The White Dove Company released 100 pure white doves (at Horse Guards) in honour of the Queen Mother's birthday, the biggest tribute for any member of the Royal Family ever seen.

Positioned just 26 feet in front of The Queen Mother, sitting with her favourite grandson Prince Charles, 100 doves were released at 5.27pm by our team to start their journey home.

The delight of witnessing such a magical spectacle was clearly visible on the Guest of Honour's face. Other members of the Royal Family sitting close by were seen to be clapping the release of doves which was a moving and joyous moment. All eyes were focused skyward watching them circling to get their bearings before heading for home.

In a letter from Clarence House, before the big day, The Queen Mum's private secretary Sir Alistair Aird said,

"Her Majesty was very touched at the thought of having 100 doves released in her honour".

Another communication followed the event from Producer Major Michael Parker, CVO CBE who wrote,

"As you are aware The Queen Mother's Tribute on Horse Guards was loved by everybody, not least the Guest of Honour, who has asked that her great pleasure should be communicated to everyone responsible. Thank you so very much indeed for all you did to make it a memorable and unique occasion".

An acknowledgement of thanks printed in the official catalogue, produced especially for the day, bares the words "The White Dove Company" of which we are so very, very proud in being recognised as part of probably the most historic Royal occasion Britain has ever seen.

The White Dove Company would like to express its special thanks to Producer Major Michael Parker CVO CBE for his help and guidance during rehearsal and on the day itself.

We use the same doves for all our work, in particular weddings.
